The Variety Bash is an annual week long event that travels through different parts of New Zealand every year. The event is a major fundraiser for Variety and was launched in New Zealand in 1991.
Committed Bashers come together each year to raise funds, distribute grants and bring a unique brand of sunshine to children across New Zealand. All funds raised in New Zealand stay in New Zealand.
The Bash Schedule
The 2009 Variety Bash will be launched from HMNZS CANTERBURY onto Princes Wharf in Auckland on Sunday 29th of March 2009 . Following the official launch in Auckland the Variety Bash participants or ‘Bashers’ will head round the Coromandel Peninsula with its stunning scenery visiting Thames, Coromandel Town , Port Jackson, Pauanui and Waihi. From there we head through the Bay of Plenty to Mt Maunganui, Whakatane and Opotiki
After a brief visit to Rotorua, the Bash will pass through the Lake Taupo region. The Bash will then have an overnight stop in National Park and make its way through the rest of the Ruapehu District before stopping off in Taumarunui. The final stop for the 2009 Variety Bash will be in New Plymouth
