The Poor Knights is renown for its temperate water diving, that means it is not as tropical as the tropics, but certainly not as cold as you think either. The water has a nice balance in between, and the clarity is extra-ordinarily clear.
Hobbits and snowy Middle Earth mountain passes are down the other end of the country. There is NO SNOW in Northland, just beautiful biodiversity and diving.
